In this clip, Charleston White spoke about feeling like his community failed him when he was released from prison after doing 7 years in a juvenile corrections center and 6 months in bootcamp. He explained that there was no re-entry program when he was released at 21, and he felt like he was falling in line with the culture while also trying to find an identity. It wasn't until Charleston became a father at 25 that he felt like he found an identity and wanted to be a strong presence in his son's life. Charleston then spoke about going to college after hearing about the big student loan checks, but he later started getting scholarships for papers written about his life.
