One could assume that being compared to superstars such as Michael Jackson and Prince is a good thing. However, Terence Trent D’Arby never let the opinions of others dictate the approach to his art throughout his career. He’s even said in interviews that he strongly believes the comparisons were more rooted in him having a similar skin tone as his predecessors than anything else. What he does believe that he has in common with the aforementioned icons is that his goal is to come from as as many different directions as possible to stretch the boundaries of what is considered to be "black music."

There are so many negative messages being given to young men on social media and television platforms that led me to do this. And I believe that if I can capture just a couple young men it may spark a lot more to want to change Listening to a man like myself who they can see care coming from a more successful direction
I am always fighting to help the young men who come from broken homes & the cultural disruptive world I come from where you don't receive the right direction and answers in life and may be in need of the right influential male figure to hear from but I am ultimately here for all of our young men who may need some raw realistic messages that may help them grow in life
